The Vimukthi Cell of College of Engineering Munnar, in association with the Department of Excise, jointly conducted the community outreach programme against drugs on 30 January 2026 at College Auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA of Devikulam Adv. A. Raja.
The function was presided over by Dr. Jeoju M. Issac, Principal, College of Engineering Munnar. Prof. Abdul Salam K. K., Assistant Professor, Department of ECE and Vimukthi Cell Coordinator, delivered the welcome address.
Sri. Harikumar P. S., Assistant Excise Commissioner, offered felicitations and explained the legal provisions and social consequences associated with drug abuse. He also emphasized the crucial role of youth participation in anti-drug initiatives.
Prof. Anish R., Director of Physical Education, spoke on the importance of the Excise in anti-drug activities. Sri. Selvadas, Health Inspector, Munnar, highlighted the importance of blood donation in the programme.
Mr. Sudev K. B., Student representative, Vimukthi Cell was delivered vote of thanks. Officials from the Excise Department, staff members, and first-year students of College of Engineering Munnar actively participated in the programme.
